Rod MacGregor

President & Chief Executive Officer

Rod is a global chief executive officer and serial entrepreneur with twenty years of experience operating companies in China, Europe and the USA. Leading venture capitalists and corporate investors including AT&T, Intel, DaimlerChrysler and Volkswagen have shared his vision and invested over $100M in his companies. His first company, Insignia Solutions Ltd., received the Queen of England’s award for technical achievement, the Queen’s award for export achievement, and subsequently went public on NASDAQ.

Pete von Behrens

Chief Technology Officer

Pete provides the technical vision and leadership for GlassPoint. The NanoMuscle product he designed is now embedded in VW, BMW and Mercedes automobiles, putting his concepts in daily use by millions of car drivers. He is the former founder of Alternative Motion Solutions, which focused on concept through production development of electro-mechanical projects requiring the use of traditional or alternative motors and solar-thermal devices. Pete also held principal engineering positions with Elliptec AG, NanoMuscle, Inc., The Tech Group, as well as serving in the U.S. Air Force. He is named on numerous U.S. and international patents.

David Dreessen

Chief Financial Officer

David oversees the financial and administrative functions for GlassPoint. Prior to Glasspoint, David was a partner at Battery Ventures, a leading venture capital firm that has backed many breakthrough technology companies around the world. A partner at Battery Ventures since 2006 and previously at Nth Power, David has completed more than 19 energy technology investments. Previously, David was a founding member of the Structure Group, which he helped build into a leading consulting and software firm serving the power industry. David also worked for Accenture and was a Naval officer and engineering program manager for the Naval Nuclear Propulsion Program Headquarters. He holds an MBA from the Haas School of Business, University of California, Berkeley.

John O’Donnell

Vice President, Business Development

John brings tremendous depth of experience in the solar thermal arena to GlassPoint as former founder and president of Ausra, Inc., one of the early leaders in the solar industry. John started his career at USDOE’s Princeton Plasma Physics Laboratory. He was founder and holder of executive positions at Venearth Group, Pixelworks, Inc., Equator Technologies, Inc. and Multiflow Computer, Inc. John is named on nine U.S. patents. He has a B.Sc. with Special Distinction in Computer Science from Yale University.

Ben Bierman

Vice President, Engineering

Ben leads GlassPoint’s global engineering and manufacturing operations and is also responsible for project execution in Oman. He has more than 30 years of management experience within the energy and technology industries, holding executive positions in the engineering, operations, facilities design and construction fields. Prior to GlassPoint, Ben was a managing director at Applied Materials (AMAT) and Lam Research (LRCX), where his engineering and operational management strategies dramatically reduced manufacturing costs and drove global growth and profitability. As vice president of laser systems at Coherent (COHR), Ben was responsible for product marketing and engineering in Germany, the UK and US. Most recently, as EVP of operations and engineering at Solyndra, Ben was responsible for design, manufacturing and field support and helped deploy nearly 1 million solar panels in more than 1000 installations across 20 countries.
