    President & CEO

    Rod was the founding CEO of GlassPoint in 2009. For more than three decades, he has led global companies across the United States, Europe, China and the Middle East. Rod’s companies have partnered with a range of multinational corporations in the energy and technologies industries, including Royal Dutch Shell, AT&T, Intel and Volkswagen. His first company, Insignia Solutions Ltd., received the Queen of England’s award for technical achievement and the Queen’s award for export achievement, and subsequently went public on NASDAQ. He has founded three other venture capital-backed high tech companies.

  • Jacob Drejer

    Chief Commercial Officer

    Jacob leads business development, strategy, and carbon monetization. He is an entrepreneur with a corporate background and 25+ years of experience. Jacob specializes in building scalable project finance opportunities around resource efficiency and environmental risk, launching investment platforms that partner with technology companies to build assets. Prior to founding his own companies, Jacob spent over 10 years with GE Capital International. Jacob has extensive deal and project experience globally, across a wide range of industries and technologies.

    David leads the operations, manufacturing, supply chain, project development and deployment activities within GlassPoint. With more than 25 years background in engineering, he opened and led multiple engineering and manufacturing centers of excellence across Europe, China, USA and Middle East. David has a track record of leading NASDAQ 100 companies around the world to achieve excellence and profitability through safe and sustainable initiatives and technologies. David holds an MBA from the Richard Ivey School of Business at the University of Western Ontario.

    Markus Balz

    Chief Technology Officer

    Markus leads the technology development of GlassPoint solar systems, supported by a team of experts he is setting the scene for technology innovation to minimize cost, increase performance and minimize Co2 emissions. Markus is well-known in the industry for decades of solar innovation, winning nearly a dozen awards over his career for engineering performance and designing cutting-edge technology. His expertise ranges from the technical aspects of designing solar technologies to the actual manufacturing and construction processes required to scale solutions internationally. Managing projects in over 25 countries he was actively involved in the development and construction of more than 1.4 GWth in CSP solar fields in 4 continents. He enjoys the most when innovation, courage, vision and teamwork lead to sustainable solution.

  • Bob Worthington

    Bob Worthington

    Chief Financial Officer

    Leading finance and fund-raising efforts at GlassPoint, Bob brings extensive experience guiding technology companies through significant growth. His career highlights include successfully raising over $200 million in capital and orchestrating numerous M&A transactions. Previously, Bob served as a managing partner with Hardesty, LLC, one of the country’s largest outsourced CFO services firms, where he led the Northern California and technology practices with a focus on venture capital and private equity-backed portfolio companies.

    Bob actively contributes to the business community, currently serving on the board for Financial Executives International-Silicon Valley, where he has previously served as president. Additionally, he is a dedicated board member for the Association for Corporate Growth (ACG)-San Francisco.

    Bob commenced his career at KPMG and is an active Certified Public Accountant (California). He earned his BS in Accounting from the University of Kentucky and his MBA from the Haas School of Business at UC Berkeley. A proud veteran of the US Army, Bob served as both an enlisted member and an officer, demonstrating his commitment to leadership and service.

    Vice President Applications Engineering

    Ben leads technology at GlassPoint, overseeing the development of solar systems and helping our customers decarbonize their operations. He has more than three decades of design, manufacturing and scale-up experience at global energy and technology companies, including Applied Materials, Lam Research and Coherent. He brings extensive experience with plant design and facilities construction. Throughout his career, Ben has helped deploy nearly one million solar panels in more than 1,000 installations across 20 countries.

  • Howar Talabany

    Howar Talabany

    Director

    Howar is a founding partner and head of business development at 300 PPM, a venture firm accelerating the journey to net-zero by searching, developing, financing, and scaling infrastructure with a measurable decarbonization impact. She has more than ten years of experience in energy transaction structuring and previously founded Venandi Ventures, an energy trading platform. Before that, she was a commercial executive at Shell. Howar holds a mid-career MPA from the Harvard Kennedy School.

  • Richard MacKellar

    Director

    Richard is a serial entrepreneur and venture capitalist with a strong affinity for early-stage companies. He is an Adjunct Professor, and has a passion for helping bright young people excel. After an early career in turbines with Rolls Royce, Richard spent 16 years in three startup companies, one as engineering manager, two as CEO, spinning out technology from UBC, to create investor returns of 45-60% IRR. For the past fourteen years Richard has been a managing partner at Chrysalix, focusing on digital transformation in energy, mining and metals. Richard has a metallurgy degree from Sheffield University and MBA from Harvard.

  • Andrea Wuttke

    Audit Chair

    Andrea is an experienced senior finance executive and Chief Financial Officer with a strong focus for listed and private companies in the renewable energy space. These positions included Canadian Solar, Natel Energy and most recently Energy Vault and its listing at the NYSE. Andrea started her career as an investment banker in M&A at J.P. Morgan in London, New York, and Hong Kong. Since joining Deutsche Bank’s RREEF Infrastructure Fund she has spent the last 18 years in the renewable energy area including billion-dollar project finance funding. Early career assignments include the National Economic Council and the Council of Economic Advisors at the White House and as a lecturer at the John F. Kennedy School of Government at Harvard University. Andrea holds a Master’s degree from Ludwig-Maximilians-University Munich and a Ph.D. from Harvard University.

    Apart from being a veteran VC, Bart is a seasoned and passionate technologist and entrepreneur having co-founded 6 companies. He is renowned for his relentless drive to internationalize companies and help them become successful beyond Europe by conquering the US or Asia. A Dutch native, he has been a General Partner at Wellington from 2000 to 2015 and played a significant role in building Wellington from a €50M fund in 1999 to a well-established player in the European VC market with some €800M of assets under management.

    Over the past 2 decades, Bart has invested in an impressive collection of DeepTech companies located in Europe and the US. Many have already made the successful leap to the US or are successfully opening up new foreign markets. Investments include Navteq (NASDAQ IPO in 2004: NVT; sold to Nokia in 2007), Meiosys (sold to IBM in 2005), Nawotec (sold to Carl Zeiss in 2005), Q-Layer (sold to Sun Microsystems in 2009), Cavendish Kinetics (sold to Qorvo in 2017), Ultimaker, First Light Fusion, Nexwafe, Orbex and of course Glasspoint.

    Malcolm Turnbull is a former Prime Minister of Australia and a notable advocate for clean energy. Before his term as the 29th Prime Minister of Australia, he held a number of parliamentary positions, including Minister for Environment and Water Resources. Before entering parliament in 2004, Mr. Turnbull was a successful trial lawyer and investment banker, where he led his own investment firm and served as a partner of Goldman Sachs.

  • Tomas Sigurdsson


    Tomas Sigurdsson is CEO of HS Orka, Iceland's leading private renewable energy company. He was formerly COO and executive vice president of Alcoa, the leading producer of aluminum, alumina and bauxite. He was responsible for the daily operations of global assets of the Company's bauxite, alumina, energy and aluminum segments across geographies. He previously served as president of Alcoa EU and ME.
