THE NEXT GENERATION OF ENCLOSED TROUGH DESIGN

GlassPoint implements a process of continuous improvement of its technology and products. Instead of revolutionary changes to its design, it implements a series of incremental improvements based on real world experience of constructing and operating projects in some of the worlds’ most challenging environments.

The latest iteration of enclosed trough design was developed with one of the agricultural industries leading manufacturers of greenhouse systems. We have jointly adapted existing high performance film greenhouses to accommodate our technology. This has resulted in less shading from the glasshouse structure, lower cost, and higher resistance to abrasion.

The film used is highly chemically inert making it suitable for deployment in locations where the environment contains caustic or other chemically active substances.

This latest iteration of enclosed trough was tested at small scale in McKittrick and then deployed at full scale at Amal in Oman in 2020.
